Scott D. Peterson
started with the firm, then Young & Carney, in 1986, after serving as a law clerk. He became a principal in 1985, and currently manages the firm's South Shore office in Hingham, Massachusetts. Mr. Peterson received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1986 and a B.A. from Boston College in 1983.
Mr. Peterson has more than seventeen years of experience litigating motor vehicle tort, premises liability, construction accident, products liability, and discrimination cases. He has numerous reported appellate decisions, including Glidden v. Maglio, 430 Mass. 694 (2000), which addressed homeowner liability for construction accidents. He has authored numerous articles, including

He has served as a panelist in seminars sponsored by MCLE and Lorman Education Services

He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of American (ATLA) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Plymouth County Bar Association, for which he is co-chairman of the Bench/Bar Committee. He was appointed by Governor Swift to the Board of Registration in Optometry in 2002, and currently serves as its Secretary. He was appointed as a Special Assistant District Attorney for Plymouth County in 2003, and prosecutes cases at the Hingham District Court.
Mr. Peterson is a long-time resident of Hingham, Massachusetts. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Hingham Community Center and is the Vice President of the Rotary Club of Hingham & Hull. His wife, Alison, also a lawyer, specializes in immigration law.
